GLAMEGO SEPTEMBER 2018

“If we may make a suggestion, Glamego if you really need to send ‘repeat products’ please do give us an option to choose from a range of products so that we may pick and choose the product we’d like another tube/jar of.” This is from our post reviewing the August GlamEgo Box and what do you know!

This month, we got to choose products of our choice. All the products were ones sent in the previous subscription boxes. We also got to pick our choice of box and I chose the one with the “baby animals”.

Product 1 choices – range of Bella Voste Lipsticks, Bella Voste Lip Contour kit, Manna Kaddar Glo Illuminator, Bio Bloom Face Oil.
Product 2 choices – Votre night cream, Nature’s Co red wine gel, Elenblu mascara.
Product 3 choices – Mcaffeine face packs, Vedic line facial kit, Kronokare face spray, hair spray, Bio Bloom body mist.
Product 4 choices – Blossom Kochhar face scrub/ face wash
Product 5 choices – Bella voste nail polishes

Please note that different products keep getting added to the list of choices.

The products that I chose for this month:

v MCAFFEINE CHOCO CAFFEINE GLOW FACE PACK (for oily skin)

SAMPLE SIZED PRODUCT (25 gms)
PRICE – Rs. 359/-
We received this in our February, 2018 box. Bob has also reviewed the product in our post on Mcaffeine products. I haven’t used this product yet but I chose this as Bob used it and liked it. The product smells of cold coffee with chocolate drizzle :p. The face mask is clay based and contains Argan oil and Vitamin E.

v BIO BLOOM FACE OIL

FULL SIZED PRODUCT (15 ml)
PRICE – Rs. 1499/-
We received this in our January, 2018 box. was planning on purchasing a few essential oils and concocting my own mix for my face and then I saw this product and promptly chose it. I an almost done with my previous bottle and would definitely recommend this product. I have extremely oily skin and this face oil hasn’t caused any breakouts for me.

v VÔTRE NIGHT CREME

SAMPLE SIZED PRODUCT (30 gms)
PRICE – Rs. 1200/- for 30 gms
We received this in the May, 2018 box and this is the night cream that I am currently using. I apply this cream after the serum and before the Bio Bloom face oil and unlike a few other night creams, it doesn’t make your skin oily or feel heavy on your face.

v BLOSSOM KOCHHAR AROMA MAGIC COFFEE BEAN SCRUB

SAMPLE SIZED PRODUCT (20 ml)
We received this is in our June, 2018 box. I have enough face washes to last me a year and then also the Cetaphil face wash that just never seems to get over (!!!) So I opted for the face scrub. The product claims to revive, fight ageing and impart glow.

v BELLA VOSTE NAIL POLISH

SHADE – PERFECT PICK (13)
This is the only product I’m not pleased with and it’s my fault L . I had earlier chosen a maroon shade and after a few days I realised that I hadn’t booked the products from my personal account *eye roll*. So I had to choose products all over again. I had initially chosen the Manna Kaddar glo illuminator but that was out of stock and the Bio Bloom face oil was added to the list of choices. The shade of nail polish I had picked was out of stock and this was the only one available. The colour is very similar to the metallic nail polishes that I already have. :(

Whilst, we’ve enjoyed getting to pick products from earlier boxes and stock up our “resources”, I am hoping that GlamEgo sends us new / fresh products/brands that we haven’t received earlier. Some beauty tools perhaps. *fingers crossed*

GLAMEGO - FEBRUARY 2018

The February Glamego box screams – “Valentine’s Day!!!” I was looking for a “sign” this month and there it was – right in front of my eyes – “I saw the sign!”

Here’s what we have in this month’s Glamego box.

I found the description 👆 list to be over the top and the grammar had me rolling my eyes👀

Nelf HD Hydrating Primer: This month we had the option of choosing one of the following: Perfume/Lipstick/Lip gloss/CC cream/Primer. I chose the primer because I haven’t used a primer thus far. After having checked online I picked this product as it is one that I don’t already have and also because of all the hype about the brand and positive reviews of the product.

Kronokare’s  Pollu-stop face: I have used face mist before and for the longest time I was under the impression that the mist was to be sprayed only after having used a face mask. I’m looking forward to using this, considering the fact that this year will require me to travel to all the highly polluted States of our country. This product couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Nature’s Co. Saffron Radiance Face cream: I love Nature’s Co. products. I first used their Vanilla face cream over two years ago and its only flaw was that ALL Nature’s Co products come in square edged bottles. That is their signature packaging. So you can’t “squeeze” out the leftover product and nor can you physically wipe the insides of the bottle clean. Have I mentioned that they come in bottles? Because you can’t even cut it open to use the leftover product. To pay over INR 1000 and have so much product go to waste is this brands ONLY drawback. Thankfully though, since these products are being made available in deluxe size, exclusively for Glamego boxes they come in tiny round pet jars.
This cream has a very mild smell and is perfect for summer which is just around the corner.
Side note: For those who have sensitive skin and don’t like heavy products try Nature’s Co. if you can splurge or use Olay which is my regular go-to moisturiser.

M{caffeine} Choco Caffeine Glow Face pack: This face mask smells EXACTLY as delicious as it sounds! I picked the one for oily skin. This is a clay based mask with argan oil and vitamin –e.

This is a product I’ve never tried before and all the products I have used from this brand were all thanks to the Glamego box which previously had the Shower gel (which I thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be repurchasing) and neem face wash.

I love all the products in the box as I got something I haven’t ever used, product from a brand that I love and two products from brands that I was introduced to by Glamego and have come to like.

Are you happy with this month’s box? Let us know in your comments below.

Oh hey! Also, we are now on Facebook join us there. Your encouragement would mean a lot to us and do comment, people. We are opinionated and encourage opinions.

GLAMEGO- JANUARY 2018

As I got home from office, I let out a big sigh and looked around, getting mentally geared to do the household chores and there it was, lying on the table, the little rectangular box. I twirled around in slow motion (Yes, I like being theatrical). “Fab Bag?” asked the husband. “No, no, it’s GlamEgo now”, said I.

I took the box to my bedroom and locked the door. I don’t like being disturbed when I am un-boxing. I got my scissors out and went snip-snap. I carried the products to my dressing table and stood before the mirror.  I cleared my throat and the ‘wannabe vlogger’ in me came to life.

(Price and product details are mentioned in the Product List)

The products for this month :

v  BELLA VOSTE-LIP GLOSS

The gloss looks pink in the picture but is actually more orangish and much brighter.

I generally tend to apply lip gloss on my lipstick but this seems to be doing fine on its own. What you see is just one coat applied. The colour is highly pigmented. The gloss doesn’t feel sticky on my lips.

I have a lot of lipsticks courtesy Fab Bag and Fab Bag too lets you choose the shade of the lipstick each month. But each time I get the shade wrong. I’ve been selecting shades with the intention of having each lipstick of a unique shade which I now think is the wrong way to go about building your lipstick collection. Browns and Maroons mostly don’t suit me and yet I’ve been picking these shades as I already have many reds and pinks. So, this month, I chose wisely and picked the MERCIER ROUGE shade which is a pinkish-orangish shade, a shade that looks good on me.

v  BIOBLOOM- FACE RADIANCE OIL

It comes in a 15 ml glass bottle that’ll easily last me for upto 3 months. I got it a fortnight back and have been using it since then. I use it only at night. I put two drops on my palm, press my palms together and then pat it on my face.  Remnant, if any, goes on my neck.

People with oily skin be assured, the product didn’t make my skin breakout and also is immediately absorbed into the skin, not leaving it greasy. Post half an hour of application, you may apply your night cream/ treatment product over it.

The product claims to enhance skin radiance and aid in skin tightening, lightening and rejuvenation, diminish fine lines and wrinkles.  I have definitely noticed skin lightening after I’ve started using this product and by that I mean my tan has lightened.

(Kindly note that when Bob and I say a product has lightened our skin, we mean our skin has returned to its original colour and not turned fairer than we actually are. We do not and shall not endorse/review products that claim to lighten your skin to a shade you were not born into. We do not believe in Fair is Lovely. Brands must market their products with claims of Tan Lightening and not Skin Lightening)

v  MCAFFEINE-FACE WASH (NEEM CAFFEINE)

This is in a 50 ml bottle and is ideal for my travel kit. I have two other MCaffeine products (Neem Face Wash with Aloe and Taurine and Liquid Funk- Shower Gel) I haven’t tried any of these products yet. I’ve sniffed it around 10 times and I cannot pinpoint the aroma to anything specific. It has a pleasant powdery smell.

This product claims to tone the skin with Neem for natural protection.

v  NATURAL BATH & BODY- VITAL NOURISHMENT CREAM

This is in a 20 ml tube. It’s a face cream with grapefruit and vitamin C. It claims to give a lighter-whiter-brighter fix. The mouth is sealed and I haven’t opened it yet as in some products, the expiration time starts once the product is unsealed.

The “star attractions”, for me, in this month’s box were the lipstick and the face oil.

Ciao
