GLAMEGO-MARCH 2018

Lulu: hmmm....
March 1, 12.30 am
Bob: Lulu! March box has what we want!
Lulu: I hope I don’t get pink nail polish.

HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY GLAMEGO! *CLAP CLAP CLAP*

GlamEgo completes a year since its launch and while we as consumers are happy for their successful run in this competitive market of subscription boxes, anniversary meant just one thing for us – exciting products to look forward to. Also with March ushering in Holi AND Women’s Day, the Box is rangeela and has ‘Girl Boss’ written on it. The March Box is sturdier and comes with a magnetic strip on the lid.

This time round too we had a choice of 4 products to choose from the brand Bella Voste - a black eyeliner, black mascara, a brown eyebrow pencil and a black gel liner. Bob chose the eyebrow pencil. I chose the gel liner.

(Price and product details are mentioned in the Product List)

The products for this month :

v BELLA VOSTE GEL EYE LINER –BLACK/ BROWN BROW PENCIL

The product claims to be waterproof, lasting up to 8 hours, extremely soft and gliding like a liquid liner, even colour pay off and easy to blend post application.

This is the first time I’ve used a gel eye-liner and I LOVE this product. (I have always been using liquid liner on my upper lids). The gel eye-liner does glide on ever so smoothly and looks like liquid liner when applied. One may blend it immediately after application before it dries out (Haven’t tried blending it).  But once set, the colour doesn’t budge. The colour is jet-black with a good colour pay-off.  This product is all that it says it is!

Even the bit about it being waterproof! Even after using a wet-wipe, eye-make up remover and a face wash, I was still left looking like a Panda and this would be the only con if I had to point one out.

Bob got her box. She shall do a detailed review of the brow pencil in an exclusive Bella Voste post that we shall soon be putting up.

Check out how creamy the brow pencil looks.

v MOND’SUB- PEELING OFF BLACK MASK

This product alone costs Rs.1000 and it feels good to get a pricey product when you consider the amount being paid for the box. (Rs.299/- per box for the 6 month subscription)

The product claims to be a deep cleansing mask, a nose blackhead remover, dark spot remover that shall thoroughly clean skin pores and make the skin cleaner, whiter and brighter.
I do not like peel off masks much and have thus not used many. I used this product last night to test it out. Unlike other peel off masks that I have used, this does not take ages to dry, dries out evenly AND peeling it off didn’t hurt much as compared to other peel-offs. But then, that got me thinking – no pain no gain? The underside of the mask on the nose area didn’t have much gunk on it and I think nose strips for blackheads do a better job.

The recommended usage is three times a week, which I think is far too often for a peel off to be used on the face. I shall do an updated review after I’ve used it more number of times. I am really curious to see if it would actually work as a Dark Spot Remover.

Tip: always peel the mask off upwards, from the chin to the forehead.

v BLOSSOM KOCHHAR AROMA MAGIC- REVIVING OXY PACK

This is in a 20g tube. This product claims to detoxify clogged skin, lock moisture, condition, energise, refresh and heal your skin. I haven’t used this product yet. It is a transparent, odourless gel. The printed instructions for use ask us to leave it on our face for 15-20 minutes and then either wipe or rinse off with water. However, a sticker on the front says that it’s an overnight leave-on pack. Hmmm....? πŸ˜•

v KRONOKARE- POLLU-STOP HAIR

This is in a 30 ml bottle. It’s a leave-on protective hair spray with an herbal smell. It claims to create an invisible shield against pollution nano particles (!) and protect, nourish and strengthen our hair. I haven’t used this product yet.

v BELLA VOSTE – NAIL POLISH

Yeah, I got pink nail polish *exaggerated eye-roll*.  Now I have 6 shades of pink nail polish. I like Bella Voste nail polishes. (I shall shortly be posting a review on nail polishes that I like) I applied this on my thumb and index finger for the picture. The nail polish dries within 10 minutes and hence gets a thumbs-up from me. What you see in the picture is just one coat of the nail polish.

Bob got a pink nail polish as well. Here is her shade:

The “star attraction”, for me, in this month’s box was the Bella Voste gel eye liner.

GLAMEGO - FEBRUARY 2018

The February Glamego box screams – “Valentine’s Day!!!” I was looking for a “sign” this month and there it was – right in front of my eyes – “I saw the sign!”

Here’s what we have in this month’s Glamego box.

I found the description πŸ‘† list to be over the top and the grammar had me rolling my eyesπŸ‘€

Nelf HD Hydrating Primer: This month we had the option of choosing one of the following: Perfume/Lipstick/Lip gloss/CC cream/Primer. I chose the primer because I haven’t used a primer thus far. After having checked online I picked this product as it is one that I don’t already have and also because of all the hype about the brand and positive reviews of the product.

Kronokare’s  Pollu-stop face: I have used face mist before and for the longest time I was under the impression that the mist was to be sprayed only after having used a face mask. I’m looking forward to using this, considering the fact that this year will require me to travel to all the highly polluted States of our country. This product couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Nature’s Co. Saffron Radiance Face cream: I love Nature’s Co. products. I first used their Vanilla face cream over two years ago and its only flaw was that ALL Nature’s Co products come in square edged bottles. That is their signature packaging. So you can’t “squeeze” out the leftover product and nor can you physically wipe the insides of the bottle clean. Have I mentioned that they come in bottles? Because you can’t even cut it open to use the leftover product. To pay over INR 1000 and have so much product go to waste is this brands ONLY drawback. Thankfully though, since these products are being made available in deluxe size, exclusively for Glamego boxes they come in tiny round pet jars.
This cream has a very mild smell and is perfect for summer which is just around the corner.
Side note: For those who have sensitive skin and don’t like heavy products try Nature’s Co. if you can splurge or use Olay which is my regular go-to moisturiser.

M{caffeine} Choco Caffeine Glow Face pack: This face mask smells EXACTLY as delicious as it sounds! I picked the one for oily skin. This is a clay based mask with argan oil and vitamin –e.

This is a product I’ve never tried before and all the products I have used from this brand were all thanks to the Glamego box which previously had the Shower gel (which I thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be repurchasing) and neem face wash.

I love all the products in the box as I got something I haven’t ever used, product from a brand that I love and two products from brands that I was introduced to by Glamego and have come to like.
