GlamEgo Box review

It was through Facebook that I was initiated into the wonderful world of beauty subscription boxes. After making a few enquiries from reliable sources, I initially subscribed to Fab Bag and continued with it until last year. I had also subscribed to LadyRaga and MSM Box. Fab Bag had been my favourite so far. Early last year, I came across GlamEgo and subscribed to it along with Fab Bag. Since some products overlapped in both the subscription boxes, I decided to stick to one subscription. I chose GlamEgo, as it was more economical of the two. Though I must mention that Fab Bag has higher-end brands as compared to GlamEgo but I see newer, better brands being introduced by GlamEgo now.

You know how, when you make purchases online and the delivery guy calls you 10 times asking you where your house is and you don’t lose your patience because you are so excited about getting your delivery. It’s like getting a gift, the only difference being that you’ve paid for your gift and you know what’s in the bubble wrap. Skip, my child, loves these deliveries too. He thinks I’m buying him bubble wrap online.

Getting your monthly subscription box is even more exciting. Details on the price, how to subscribe may be gotten from the link here - GlamEgo Their website also has major discounts on a few beauty products all year long, though the Products and Brands available are limited as compared to other major online sellers.

At the time of subscription, you are asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding your skin/hair type, age group, concerns, preferences etc. I have noticed that since both Bob and I have mentioned that we have oily skin, in our September GlamEgo box, we both received BioBloom hand-made soaps which were specifically meant for our skin type.

Last year, I gifted Bob a 6 month subscription to the GlamEgo box for her birthday. (Yes, it makes a wonderful gift for all the beauty product aficionados out there) and now I have Bob addicted to the box too. She promptly sends me a message at 1.00 am on the 1st of every month with a screenshot of the products for that month.

The GlamEgo box is a cardboard box ( a bit on the flimsy side but serves well as a storage box for your make up and other ancillary items)  with different motifs on it each month with 4 beauty products in it, some full sized and some deluxe sized. These products come nestled in shredded paper.
The contents range from makeup to skin/hair care products. Each month, you take your pick from amongst the different options given to you for one product. (Usually it’s your choice of a lipstick/nail polish shade).  The products for each month have always, always been value for the money paid for the subscription. Besides the full sized products, the deluxe sized tubes have ample product in it for you to be able to gauge whether or not to buy the full sized version of the same. For eg: a 20 ml tub of night cream would easily last for two months (pea-sized is all you need for the cream to work!) Also they are ideal to carry while travelling.

Bob and I shall un-box the contents each month and give a product description of the same. A detailed review of these products would follow once we’ve used it for a considerable period of time.
